The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

It’s been fun, just gotta make sure you have an enclosure and a strong extraction fan. This was 21hours of burning 3mm ply for the medallions I made. Been using 12”x20” sheets, altough it’s a limitation on building airframes, you just need to learn how to make puzzle or alignment joints in order...

Here’s a couple photos of the gear block I recreated with birch ply laminated with red Kevlar Carbon weave along with some other pieces. The power of calipers, geometry, CAD, and a laser cutter. The 40W diode laser had no problem cutting this.

Thanks, yeah the part that's got me struggling is the formers that crunched as it's hard to make a template of splinters

Been working on the 104NG after I plopped it. Thought I had more pictures but I’ll take some more of my progress later. I reverse engineered the landing block in CAD and laser cut it with my own rendition of birch ply with a carbon/red Kevlar bonded to it. The other thing taking up all my...

Scroll Saws Rock... the table. LOL but I love mine as well... I even own a laser and still use my scroll saw for things.

Excellent solution! I wouldn't have guessed to ask AI, man it's really changed how I dig into a issue.

I did it once but was super quick to react and hit the switch again and it fired back up... that one was close. I still remember it as it would have probably not made it back to the runway at that moment. Might have been eyeing the new FrSky X20RS and saw the X20 Pro AW had some interesting...

geeze! I flew the snot out of my 55ax on a mojo 40, had a Saito 72 on it before that. 55ax had a great power/weight ratio. Saito 82 would be the ticket... ouch they are expensive now. Mounted one on my H9 P-40 but never flew it (had a 72 on it before that was worn from the mojo lol). That 82 and...

    140” Turbo Bushmaster assembly

You can reload the pictures by reselecting them and under your phone options pic large or medium instead of fullsize. Medium is good for many regular non-detailed pics. Also when they loaded into the attachments you can select them and add to the message body. I usually do this.

    Joe Nall 2026

Enjoyed seeing the mini T-cub prototype. Very light and I gave Tim a hard time for not seeing a float block on it. It’s designed to use the same power setup as the 67” planes One of my favorites to watch fly was this custom scheme PAU that Jeremy Blocker was flying. The fluorescent pink...

    140” Turbo Bushmaster assembly

Heck yeah! Seems like the 84" and the 140" are the two Bushmasters to have! Theres a video floating around of a powerbox servo lifting some weights and it's pretty impressive. @stangflyer would appreciate the redhead motor.
