    Scale Sig 1/3 Scale Spacewalker

I used a "T" pin and glue to simulate stitching on the Super Cub. I thought that Dynamic Balsa sold simulated stitching and reinforcing tape but I could not find it there. I think getting the spacing correct is more important than how the bump looks, but that's just my opinion. Note the rib...

Scale 112” - Taylorcraft by HeyLuc & Snoopy.

Both my Champ and Super Cub weight 39 pounds, had 5 1/2" Dubro wheels on the Champ and 5 5/8" Dubro pneumatic wheels on the Cub. The 5 1/2"wheel on the Champ worked very well. I think it is best to support the plane on the landing gear rather than the wheels for long term storage.

Scale 112” - Taylorcraft by HeyLuc & Snoopy.

You can get bungee cord in many diameters, my Super Cub uses 1/8" cord. I found on the Champ that stiffer springs work better. I had 50 pound per inch springs that just barely deflected at rest, anything less a perfect greased landing the plane bounced. At a scale contest last year, was...

Good luck with the changes Snoop, you need to get some rubber in there to adsorb the energy rather than store it, bungees work great.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

While the postman didn't bring this found a local estate sale. New to me arbor press. $50. Also found these sealing irons. $10 for the four, the second iron from the left is an old made in USA iron, Connecticut is abbreviated Conn. on it. The two letter state abbreviations began in 1963, I...

Scale Nelitz 1/3 scale Cub build

I think that I cut the fabric so that it covered the area around the back window and took whatever I got on the top. I mat have added a piece of fabric on top to cut edge on top of the wing on the area covered with the aluminum fairing. There is pinking tape along the edge of the fairing as...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

The Robart gear was not so good from my experience, the trunion is made out of aluminum and must be a very low alloy. My the slot opened up after a few landings, I bet I had less than 25 flights on mine before I cart wheeled on a grass runway during a take off. To add insult to injury,in was...

Scale RCM 1/3 Scale Champ Build

Ordered a cowl today. Plan to build this fuselage with the dorsal fin modification that should help with adverse yaw. Been looking on airliners.net for another paint scheme but thinking I will stay with the yellow/orange scheme. Here are both fin types, apparently the bigger fin allows for...

Scale Nelitz 1/3 scale Cub build

To cut the fabric, I paint the fabric along the cut line with Poly Brush and let it dry, then hold a razor blade at low angle along the cut line and pull the fabric up along the cut line. The PolyBrush keeps the fabric from fraying. Control shrinkage with low heat, don't go crazy with the heat...
