    Wattaplane/Skywing 48" EPP/PLY hybrid Slick

Thanks guys, the idle up sounds like just the ticket. Not looking hopeful for flying today, going to feel like it's in the low 20's all day here & windy.

    Wattaplane/Skywing 48" EPP/PLY hybrid Slick

I changed my tail wheel also, it had the tail sitting too low for harrier landings. My buddy had a tail wheel from a hanger 9 extra laying around that I used. Simple setup, Aluminum bracket, bent music wire and a nice fat 1" wheel. didn't change the cg at all. I've got 9 flights total on mine...

    Wattaplane/Skywing 48" EPP/PLY hybrid Slick

Finally flew mine today. Needed very little trim. More adjustment to throws and expo than actual trimming ( lowered throws on aileron and elevator, cranked up the expo) No problems with the landing gear on the 4 flights I got in before the wind started blowing it backwards. Can't wait to fly it...

55" EPP/Plywood/Carbon fiber Hybrid Yak 54 coming from Skywing

I'd have to defer to moose, as he probably has more experience ( haven't flown anything larger than my 48" stuff ), but I do have a bunch of 4s packs. And I'm pretty sure it was only 3posts....but it was mentioned more than once in the posts ;) What's probably best, is less speculation on my...

55" EPP/Plywood/Carbon fiber Hybrid Yak 54 coming from Skywing

I don't know...the rudder seems proportional to the rest of the size of the plane. If you look at the pic with the edge you can see what looks to be 3 carbon spars in the elevator... one across the hinge line and two going out on an angle in each half. Seems to be one carbon spar in the...

55" EPP/Plywood/Carbon fiber Hybrid Yak 54 coming from Skywing

Skywing has released info on the 55" Yak 54 that is in the prototype stage right now. So if no major changes are necessary, it should only be a few more weeks before the production model is out. It's designed to fly on 6s ( 2 3s 2200 in series...so you won't need new batteries). I mentioned that...

    Wattaplane/Skywing 48" EPP/PLY hybrid Slick

BTW...My maiden got blown out...too much wind for me on the first flight...didn't even try. Lousy North East weather:banghead:

    Wattaplane/Skywing 48" EPP/PLY hybrid Slick

any issues with the landing gear Diggity ? I'm assuming so far you've only flown off pavement.

    Wattaplane/Skywing 48" EPP/PLY hybrid Slick

Glad to hear you like it Diggity. Wedoitall, I fly in a large, paved school parking lot that was just redone last summer......nice and smooth. :p Looking good for tomorrow, maybe later in the day, but should get her in the air.

    Help choosing a Motrofly motor

Thanks guys...ordered up a 2815-950 from Subsonic. Ordered a ZTW LP 45 from Altitude hobbies. I've got both an APC 13X6.5 composite prop & a Xoar 13X6.5 beechwood prop to try out on it. After re reading the specs on both motors I realized that approximately 800 watts would be a handful on this...

    Help choosing a Motrofly motor

Hey Guys, wondering if anyone out there could help me with choosing a Motrofly motor for my 48" 3DHS Edge, flying with 3s 2200mah lipos. According to the specs, the 2820-950 seems to be the perfect match, and what I'm leaning towards, but I've read posts from others over at RCG that some are...

WRAM 2013: 3DRCF Event Coverage and Member Experiences!

Glad to hear it Swede. I'm considering upgrading my DX7 this season, but have yet to decide on what to upgrade to. Trying to be patient as there are some new offerings coming to market in the very near future that I am very interested in. There were some excellent prices on DX8's & DX18's at...

WRAM 2013: 3DRCF Event Coverage and Member Experiences!

I would hope we can move on and remain on topic. My apologies for starting this, but please know that the outcome was not my intention, thought I was just making a simple statement of how I felt. I am glad that so many others enjoyed themselves as this should insure the show moving on in the...

WRAM 2013: 3DRCF Event Coverage and Member Experiences!

Thank you Horton. I guess I should clarify that my original statement was just a blanket statement, not specifically directed at 3DHS. A few of the vendors I went there specifically to see were not there, even though they were on the list, and the ones that were there had either sold off what I...

WRAM 2013: 3DRCF Event Coverage and Member Experiences!

Well, I was at the booth at just about 3:00 pm on Friday, and there were three people manning the booth, having a good old bull session. Neither I or my friend said anything more than excuse me a number of times and after getting no response , we walked away. I was thought I was over my bad...
