Yeah it's one of Don's. I'm a little disappointed with the glass work on this one, but I can make it work. Leo at one time offered me a screaming deal on one of his, but I never went through with it. I arranged a buyer for his large stockpile of big block Chevy parts, Muncie transmissions, 12...

    Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My Thanksgiving started Wednesday night with a family ritual practice meal. Mom who is now 88 makes a small Turkey so she can test her dressing and make sure it's right for Turkey day, so it was dinner with mom and dad. Tomorrow is the real thing with the whole family.

I haven't been doing much in the shop lately, but I have been doing a little research to get ready for a project I want to do this winter. I bought a kit for a Tipo 750 a few years ago and I've decided I really need to get on it. For those of you that aren't old, a Tipo was a pattern...

One other thing, a worm gear clamp can ruin an aluminum canister. Not a problem on the stainless header side like Rob has it. I have a canister that the inlet was crushed by a previous owner with a worm clamp.

I run a short socket head servo screw right in the gap in the middle of the clamp. Works like a charm.

You just haven't flown the right "E" powered airplane. :) EDF jets are a blast. Plus I bet you'd fly a good electric classic pattern airplane. It's not like a screaming piped YS, but I bet it would do. I will say one thing that will be total sacrilege to some people here. I have a Twisted...

I was waiting for an order from Chief Aircraft once and checked the tracking and it said "Delivered" well, not to me. Turns out it went to the local Air Force Base for some reason. What really sucked was I had waited a long time for it and had to wait all over again.

I think if you can find the WingTote bag specs online. I know the wings for a 107" Pilot Extra fit the 120cc WingTote bag. Chief Aircraft's website has the specs for the Pilot wing bags. I'm using the 120cc Pilot bag for my 120cc Hangar 9 Extra 300X and the they fit great, it even has a spot for...

    Real Flight 8 (RF8)... It's Here!!!

I'm so old I had a Commodore 64, and a Texas Instruments TI-99 before that. With the TI-99 you had to type code for hours just to get the screen to change color. How things have changed.

Between yesterday and tonight I cut some flats on my new Dubro axles, test fitted everything to make sure the new 4 1/2" wheels would fit the new wheel pants, and then installed it all for real and glued the cuffs on. The new gear is 2" narrower which will make it much easier to roll through the...

I have a Revolectrix PowerLab 8. It's capable of over 40 amps with the power supplies I have. I want to add the "Bump Controller" to it one of these days.

Also most packs will tell you the recommended charge rate. I have some 5000mah batteries for my helicopters that can be charged at 3C, but I don't charge them that high, 2C on those is plenty fast for me. I can parallel charge 2 5000mah batteries in around 20 minutes at 2C. That's 10 amps per...
