You are correct sir. Empty. It would add less than 1lb of fuel.

Haven’t tried slats yet, seems like most people are leaving them off to see how it handles without them first. With the larger tires it coupled to the gear in knife edge. The airframe is floaty, but keep in mind it is a high wing still. I’ve heard it likes flying on its back. It transitions...

17oz tank would be plenty. Lots of variables with weight. Gear, tires, power system, and overall setup. It would be neat to find longer carbon gear to replace the stock aluminum and lighter wing struts if you use them.

Noticed them too. I agree about the weight. Maybe one day, but not now for me!

That always takes forever. If you’re a perfectionist like me, it’s no easy feat ha ha. New radio is fun to toy with for sure Ha ha, no worries. I forget what I read 90% of the time anyways. You answer an equal amount of my questions!!

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

34F is usually my cutoff. There are other factors at play.... wind is a big one. I will fly much lower temps if there is no wind and little humidity. I’ll shorten my flights to about five-six minutes depending on the type of plane... only because my fingers start to hurt and get numb which makes...

Not a bad idea. I’ve been sticking with tygon, just had a wild hair to use the matching blue line that came with the plane. The tygon is thicker too, which might help me here too. I forgot to mention that it was 31F out when I was flying.... hand warmers and a big poofy jacket. Oct was not a...

Squeaked in a couple flights before the rain and darkness hit. Timer set to 14min now. Two flights brought both packs down to 60% capacity. I think 30min of flight time before a recharge sounds safe (2x 2550s). Haven’t had to adjust my rates. Plane flies great, might move the batteries aft...

I don’t think the extra leaf will actually add enough weight to see a difference. I have 6oz of lead on the tail....

Spitfire crash after aborted landing approach

Almost like the real thing. The original Spitfire wasn't fuel injected and it would have a tenancy to sputter and die in negative G's. The ME-109 was injected and used this against the spit in a dog fight.

There isn’t that much room in the motor box. I’d just mount it aft. 5” CG is good, but a little further back would be better I think. I’ve run the cooling spinners on 60” planes. Don’t think they are really worth it unless you live in a place that gets over 80F a lot. Every bit of cooling...

    IMAC Scratch build Laser 200

Thank You! Are you using NiChrome wire as well? Tony is using 22gauge 0.025", I check my bow and it's the same currently. Just ordered some... it's about $8 for 100ft. Do you have a part number on your variac that I can use to look for one? I like that you have adjust the transformer output.
