The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Now I am kind of confused, which is nothing new for me. . . .. Why is it at least 18" away from the batteries, switches, ignition module & etc? Plus, I know for a fact that the Evolution is the only motor that has been installed on the plane. Maybe Evolution uses the same...

@49dimes & @stangflyer Will you two gentlemen go back to page 243 and tell me if you recognize what the red and black plastic piece is inserted a picture of in post 2428? There are no identifying marks on it whatsoever and it breaks into two parts. Rob helped me figure out what the "Mini...

Hey Rob, I sincerely appreciate your help. The 42% thing is as good as in the trash. I have an extra optical kill switch from Gerhard that I got with my 3 Dub so I will use that. I REALLY hope the red and black thingy is a voltage regulator or I am going to have to get one of those too.

Hey Rob, I hear what you'really saying and I appreciate your help. I need all of the help I can get. . . LOL I'm just used to turning on a plane by the switch on the side of the fuse, that's all. I do have another question if you don't mind. Do you know what these are? I bought the plane...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Didn't get much "Shop" time this weekend, but since I was the only one at the flying field on Saturday, I decided to pull my GP Giant Stick out of the Durango and work on it while I was there. Got the receiver installed and the batteries connected & installed but they are all going to have to...

    IMAC Dalton 260 Restoration

Hey @stangflyer, I have a dumb question for you. How old do you think the plane is? Maybe the original builder had to use two servos to get the torque that was needed (with shorter arms of course). Then again, the rails in the "inside" holes look allot more worn that the rails in the...

Same here @combat chicken but usually around here the wind is blowing 90 MPH when it is warm here in February. If the wind isn't blowing, I am definitely going to burn a little fuel this weekend. . . . . :big_yes:

Hey Kelly, Hang in there Buddy, you'll get it worked out. Life's too short to let little things like this get you down. It's too bad nobody makes stab and wing incidence adjusters for giant scale planes like Gator RC used to make for pattern planes back in the day. Of course, if the plane...

    3D Restoring The Yak

Hey Rob, First of all, you don't have to apologize for ANYTHING. It is your plane and believe me when I tell you, if I had put the time and investment into an airplane like this, I would be more anal about things than you will ever be. . . . . :big_yes:. Your BIG Yak is going to be INCREDIBLE...

    Futaba rx antenna mounting

Hey Ken, Just to elaborate on what Kelly said, go to your LHS and get a variety pack of heat shrink tubing. The pieces that are light blue work perfectly. Just super glue the tube to the fuse and thread the antenna lead through and presto, you're done. Remember, the exposed part at the end...
