So I got the 87" chippy plans. They are Bob Nelitz 1/5 scale plans. Fun to look at, but no way I'd ever scratch build something like this with that huge bubble canopy. https://aerofred.com/details.php?image_id=94391&mode=search

Had a date with the 84” TBM and the 73” laser.... boy is she a classy act, yet a complete animal. Had a could spectators swing by, first group was amazed, asked me if I wanted their RC stuff because they don’t have the time. The second group I got to play with a bit.... he he he. Did a dolphin...

sheeted the underside of my turbo otter. I needed some 3/32 balsa and to design a way to sheet the bottom so I could remove the gear and add floats at some point, also the wing strut attach points - I may add an aluminum strip and box in the gap in later... But the beauty of all of this was I...

How do you like the Raven? Which wings? I've heard people say it's a little on the heavier side to other 70cc birds, but it sounds like your performance is nothing short of stellar.

I hear ya. My VVRC 21 hub seems a little on the loose side when warmed up. The DLE 20 has been around for a while... Seems like a solid choice, I think the rear exhaust is known to be louder and maybe a little close to the carb from what I hear. I like keeping the noise down on my float planes...

Get ready to fly all day on 8oz of fuel! I saw a video of a guy flying one with a dle20 (converted) performance looked great! Now I have an excuse to get the blue/white scheme....

    Engine choice?

I think a cub with a large wing loading should be able to handle the weight anyways. Check this out from another build here. Maybe @Patto can chime in with the autostart https://www.giantscalenews.com/threads/hostetler-cessna-336-skymaster.7673/page-24

    Engine choice?

If you need weight up front, might as well make it smart weight. The EME 70cc from what I hear is very reliable, and it's heavier than the DA70... very hard to beat the EME 70cc for the price. DA70 is 55grams more than the DLE60 (engine only) Which is under 1/8lb more than the 60 depending on...

It would make too much sense for TopFlight/Monokote to list the product manual on their website, I found this on Tower Hobbies that explains how to use this thing: http://manuals.hobbico.com/top/topr2400-manual.pdf Basically, you use it to make a strait covering cut for overlaps along seams by...

Hmmm I can even understand how it works. It’s Top Flight brand. I see the two xacto blades. But the angle throws me off

Can someone tell me what this one is used for? Thanks! Also. @Xpress is this even worth keeping around? I don’t have a programmer yet. This one seems dated but new. HFP-10

nope, there was a CG chipmunk mostly built that someone took though. There was a box for plans of a 87" Chipmunk... no Idea the MFGR. Just looked online and I cannot find a 87" chipmunk. They had a garage sale this morning. Don't think the kits were looked at too hard. The grandson said they...

Funny... I wasn’t planning on it. I stayed there and helped clean up with them. Threw away a bunch of stuff that I knew was worthless. They said if you see anything else just take it. I took the Astro-Hog ha ha ha!

Well.... I spent five bills. Five boxes of balsa, one box of spruce, box of wire, box of Nelson covering, eight gold-n-rod bags, box of K&S tubes, box of misc hardwood blocks, box of tires, box of miscellaneous hardware, box of covering items, custom wire bender, oh and a dozen kits.... I got...
