    3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

Tail Wheel Assembly. Three wood screws, and a ball link tiller system with nothing pre-drilled for you. What I mean is this is practically a kit :lol2: Sanded the plastic part of the ball end and made some notched grooves with my dremel for the epoxy to grab onto later. Find a drill bit the...

Adding the control horn to the rudder. The key here is to make sure your control horns are symmetric and the ball link holes are close to the hinge line. It helps to dry fit them and mark with a pencil first. Add the epoxy, insert, and then look from the top of the rudder for symmetry with...

    3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

Rudder Assembly If I took the time to read the tip from @HRRC Flyer of using a hole punch into blue painters tape, it would have lessened my hinging mess! That is why I love doing this, we can ALWAYS learn from someone else!

I am with you here as well. The scheme is killer! This plane will help me determine whether to get its bigger 92" brother or the tried and true 91/93" laser. After owning an AJ 73" laser, Its been possibly the most relaxing airframe for me to fly.

I truly love the way the horizontal gets added. They've incorporated a puzzle piece so you can basically epoxy and go! Well done guys. I dry fit the horiz, trimmed, and marked it evenly so I can epoxy and set into place. Like the traditional method, I always measure for squareness from the...

More Hinging. Added The control horns in this manner. laquer thinner does a little better job cleaning than Isopropyl but still works. I also used the alcohol to wipe the control horns clean and let dry before moving on to the epoxy. Sometimes the release compound can still interfere...

Then the "fun" part. 30Min epoxy one aileron at a time. I use a small mixing cup, and a round stir stick for mixing rod finish. If you need another minute of working time, spread it out over some aluminum foil to delay the cure time. The dowel/rod fits in the hinge pin holes great. I cut up some...

Engine selection for H9 Beaver 30cc

Bummer! At full throttle in the air, does the plane pull to that side? As in maybe the trust angle is off? Could have had one wheel on the axel/or pinched too tight? Might just need to be on the rudder more I haven't used red locktite in a very long time. Blue is the way to go!

Engine selection for H9 Beaver 30cc

Exciting!! With the full scale beaver, the ailerons are mushy. I've unofficially flown one. The rudder is where it's at. With all my tail draggers I refuse to limit my rates, Expo is great! Did you file a flat spot on the wheel collar for the set screw? blue locktite? I always have some sort of...

Here is to what I'm sure is everybody's least favorite part about putting an ARF together. Hinging. I'll share what at this point seems to be the quickest method with good results. First, I'll make sure each hole is clean of any obstructions and allows the control surface to deflect without...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

^^ Exactly^^ I brought this up in a recent Drone EXPO our local FAA FSDO put on and the local sUAS operators also chimed in and said there was 3-4 pallets of drones recently sold at our Costco and yet there are only a handful of part 107 operators out in our community... So why is it model...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I'm still having growing pains with my 18SZ. I was flying my edge with smoke. I have several "conditions" so I can achieve triple rates. I found out today while I was flying that from DR to TR my smoke had less output. It appears that I somehow mixed it to my rates or the condition hierarchy...
