so long as you can rebuild the contours around the outside with the tape you can lay it up from the inside and it ends up looking perfect. a little bondo here, some sanding and filling there, and it's done. Love the idea of the Cap build, I'm a bit of a purist with a lot of stuff but I'll deal...- Bartman

the bottom of the real cowls isn't as boxy as that one that you have. the snorkel probably ought to be there but doesn't have to be as pronounced as it is in that first photo. and i see you do what i also do to rebuild old snotty cowls with the masking tape. i was going to make a video about...- Bartman
