and that's a totally realistic fear, regulation creep where it starts out for a common good but then gets corrupted and becomes bad. cooperation with airports within 5 miles can be an issue but that's up to the club to work out with the airports. unfortunately if the airport won't cooperate then there's nothing the club can do to keep flying. remember though, A LOT of full scale pilots started with models and still fly...- Bartman

As modelers flying at clubs, events, etc we're not subject to the regulations being fought over in court and on the news unless we do something really stupid and create a hazard to other aircraft. Personally, I don't think it's as bad as it sounds. So long as clubs are doing things safely and in a way that respects the things around them then there shouldn't be any problems. FPV is definitely at risk of going away but the AMA might still come out ok on that fight. Sponsored flying...- Bartman

the attachment on the DX18 transmitter is probably a UHF RC system, it takes the commands from the radio and put them through a UHF transmitter instead of the RC transmitter in the radio.
