Sport PAU 27% Pitts Challenger Build/Review

Thanks guys, it's looking good so far. I just ordered an Ohio Superstars Haigh style tail wheel for it just to complete the Pitts look since many full scale Pitts' have the Haigh locking tail wheels. A correction to the 1st video (I'll include this in the next video as well), I'm so used to...

    Prop Rip

as to why, it's usually because the tips of the props are at or past the point of moving at supersonic speeds. there are other theories about cavitation happening at the tips when you're hovering which is probably true too but it's usually the cracking of the tips moving too fast. smaller...

    Prop Rip

Usually the cure for that sound is a three blade prop as the smaller diameter will have slower tip speeds making for less noise. But you're getting it at half to three quarter throttle. I'm not so sure a larger prop will solve the problem as you'll still have plenty of power to spin it as fast...

Sport PAU 27% Pitts Challenger Build/Review

Nick (www.nachoscheese.net) was trying to keep with the original Oracle Challenger's simple white/red scheme while also getting a little crazy with the GSN bling. I think he nailed it!

    Fixing up the firewall

they can look pretty ugly after they've been through a couple of different engines/motors, throttle servo locations, fuel line and ignition wire holes, etc. clean 'em up though and they look great! laminating the firewall though, that's almost like bling for an old plane's soul....i commend you!

Sheeting foam wings, how much weight is enough??

good point considering vacuum bagging applies atmospheric pressure which is 14.7 pounds per sq. in. @Terryscustom ; you had mentioned that video to me but I'm not ready to try vacuum bagging just yet. will definitely look forward to learning something from a builder like yourself. also just...

Sheeting foam wings, how much weight is enough??

Hi folks, I've got an old Lanier 81" Cap 232 kit that is going to be my next build project but I've never done foam wings before. It's just something I've always tried to avoid doing. The builder of my Carden Cap walked me through what I think is a great procedure for sheeting the wings but...

    AVATARS...PG-13 Please

Hi folks, Before I reach out to specific people I'll remind everyone we've got a PG-13 rating with the site intended for everyone you'd find at a local flying field including your young family members, friends, neighbors, etc. A few avatars are starting to push that so I'd just ask that you...
