    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

Picked the saw up today. Top for sure needs a little love but I think it will make one great saw for my shop. 3HP 220v motor. Based off the serial number it was made in 1985 so it shares a birthday with me. Will see if I can get it cleaned up and looking before the end of the year. I will plan a...

Yes, Delta Unisaw's are very nice units. I glad to be adding one to my shop. It will need a good restoration though.

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

While it's not a mill or a lathe I will be picking up a new to me table saw tomorrow from a coworker. Older Delta UniSaw that came out of the quality department at the Georgia Pacific plant he worked at years ago. Only thing its ever done is rip 4x8 sheets of OSB in half for testing. It's sat in...

Yeah the 9 grams where fine on the previous setup but the T-motor was too much for it. Theta 921's should be in for it by the end of the week.

Took the girls out to the field yesteday for some fun. Had the intentions of letting both get there first bit of stick time with the trainer. Sadly I made the first flight and decided some high speed passes would be fun. Well second pass one aileron started to flutter and then leave the chat...

Very much so. There are times when working together with other trades is a benifit but for the most part its always been best to me to be in our own areas and out of each others way.

Did some heli flying yesterday with my new Goosky S2 Legend. Totally new skill for me to learn and it will never replace fixed wing but it’s fun learning.

I've experienced similar during my time in construction. I was taught by some good electricians during my apprenticeship who had no problem getting down in the hole with the helpers to get the job done so I became the same way once I was the one doing the teaching. Also been on the side of...

Yes I had a coworker with full Milwaukee setup when I lived in Williamsburg 15ish years ago. The tools where amazing but he had to have twice as many batteries to make it through the day than I did with my Dewalt 18V stuff.

Oh no doubt Milwaukee makes the best porta band ever. We had a dozen of them at my last job. Where I'm at now we have a couple including my favorite for little small jobs is the M12 cordless version. Rigid is what we have always used for any pipe threading needed. Never had much experience with...

I've thought about getting one of the cheap harbor frieght porta-bands to make a bench top metal saw out of. Maybe it's the tradesman coming out in me but I'm a fan of the tri-vise as a stand.

While it wont help if you just drop it one thing I did to keep my exacto knife from rolling off of the bench was to cut a piece of wire about an inch long and tape it to the end of the handle. Stops it from rolling.
