The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

No, that was the Cherokee. This plane is 12 years old and needed a little TLC, the canopy was broken and there where several patches in the Monokote.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Covered the bottom then laid out the white/red line. Since the line runs over the open bays the white Monokote is applied over the open bays and then punctured about every 1/4" to vent trapped air, the top covering is ironed on with high heat. Not sure if I will do the same with the black...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I pulled a new canopy for the Bob Godfrey One Design while pulling the windows for the Cherokee. Have the canopy mounted and put the Missle Red basecoat/clear coat on it. Tore of the old Monokote and prepped for covering, might start today since it is raining in the Burg, the airframe is 12...

I got the rat's nest cleaned up, with any luck I hope to maiden tomorrow. There are a lot of wires in there. The final weight came in at 30.8 pounds. 34.6 ounces per sq ft and 9.16 cubic wing loading. We shall see how it flies. I sure hope I like it!!!

I was hoping to maiden the Cherokee this weekend but those dreams quickly vanished while programing the servos for 100% stick travel at the desired surface defection. The flap servo on the right wing shorted out. As you may remember I did not install access doors so this required cutting open...

If I can do it in OpenTX in will not require any additional hardware switches and thought. When the flaps are deployed will act as the gear down command and eanble the servo. I'm thinking gear up command will be some value of the x axis acceleration along with throttle opening and time...

Never used Kevlar, how does it wet out? Think my next build might be a fiberglass fuselage layup and was considering Kevlar fabric.
