Scale RCM 1/3 Scale Champ Build

I can't wait until I get the parts painted and do another weight and balance. I'm starting to second guess the satellite receivers in the back of the plane that will not be accessible. I have an early model FrSky transmitter and thinking about replacing it. It works find, just 7 or 8 years...

I hung the plastic today and sprayed a coat of Ekofill on the tail plane fabric parts, sand with 320 and one coat of Ekoprime and should be ready for color. The back of my garage looks like a Dexter Morgan cut room. My wife is not happy about that! Tomorrow I may etch the aluminum parts and...

According to Horizon Hobbies web site it should be back in stock this month. Getting rid of Monokote is like throwing the baby out with the bath water IMO. I signed up for restock notification. I have a 25' roll that I need to repair my One design that some how got a foot through the fuselage...

3D Vertigo build, any interest in a build?

    1mm is a thin? even 1/16" is a pain.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I used DuBro pin hinges. And while we're talking Staggerwings, I have these plans stored above the workbench might just build it some day, the plans show working retracts, 80 1/2" span, would be a nice size model. Had a GT80 that I though would make a good speedster but donated to the club...

The plane was originally covered with Monokote, I had to buy a roll because I damaged one wing while assembling. Dark red maybe?

Some more photos, pretty sure the photo when loaded in the aircraft carrier was the morning of the fun fly with my old reliable RC Guys Cherokee. It's a good thing I took two!

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I got a great deal on the plane, it was new but out of the box, apparently stored in a barn for some time and the box had bird droppings on it. $375 which included the Robart retracts. I had the retracts converted to electric by Robart. I built mine with the functional gear doors, this worked...

The flying wires arrived today from http://www.flying-wires.ch/flying-wires/index.html, all I can say is they are a thing of beauty in addition lighter than the wires I had previously built. The wires i made were 32 grams a pair while the Aero Scale come in at 18 grams a pairs. I'll be using...

The weather has been crappy so I went ahead and installed the piping. There is 60' of 3/4" pipe, this results in a retention time of 30 seconds when flowing 4 to 5 SCFM. This will only help the air dryer, before I painted the wings last fall I regenerated the desiccant and it lasted through...

Hope you get a speedy reply, looks like the rib on the right is a little short of the trailing edge. Are the ribs show on the plans? Is it possible to cut new ones rather than wait for a revision?

Got the last coat of primer on the cowl today, no pin holes or other flaws, ready for final block sand before applying the Ekopoxy water based primer. Before switching to the water based paints I sprayed the cooling baffle and the inside of the cowl ahead of the cooling baffle with flat black...
