    We've got cooling water lines going to our journal bearings. The cooling water is hard piped into the tailrace of the powerhouse, but also travel through the sump pit that collects the shaft seal water. This RTD will drop into a pipe in the sump pit and monitor sump water temperature.

    It's a sump pit cooling water probe. With the new regs, we have to install cooling water temp probes on the incoming, outgoing and sump pit.

    Made some sleeves for my boring bars. Still need to make a couple more. so far so good. For the larger bar, I had to run set screws down through the top of the holder. Took me a the better part of an hour just to tap those out due to the hardness of the metal.

    Hey Tony, It's a spider for the lathe spindle. I have to make a bunch of sheer pins for work and the stock is 3' long. This will let me use the 3' stock without having to cut it down to work with.

    So far so good. I tightened up the gibs just a touch and leveled it out. One thing I wasn't aware of was that the chip pan bottom is elevated. I had to put some 3/4" boards under the chip pan so the lathe was on solid ground. The spindle also doesn't have any extra meat for a screw on type...

    Had a snafoo right off the bat. Precision Matthews has been really good with getting things right. The carrage moved just fine for a couple of runs back and forth by hand, then it just started to free spin. I took a peak at the parts break down and figured something was wrong with the gear...

    It's on it's way. Tracking shows it should arrive on the 10th! I still need to pick up the DRO scales for the lathe. I spent all my lunch money on final payment. :adore:
