30cc / 76" Extra 330 BUILD THREAD Talk about good timing. I received an email from Redwing and they advised me they should be shipping my plane next week. Yep, that's good service. Then I get a call from DESERT AIRCRAFT (from Jeff), since I'm on the waiting list for a DA35...... he wants to...

Pre Orders open for new ARFs!!

After reading how everyone ordered the larger size planes, I feel like the little guy here :D...... I ordered the V3 in a 30cc size. I have new 40CC VVRC engine waiting . I would have liked to buy a big one but I can't justify two 91" models, especially buying another DA 70.

    78'' Extra

Not to rub it in but I flew all day long, the WX was 70 Degrees, calm wind and blue skies here in California.

    78'' Extra

The tail wheel assembly is toast on my 78" Extra.... I have a whole bunch of fights on it. I need to replace it but do not want to go back to stock. I'd like something more robust. Recommedations would be appreciated. Chuck

    Extreme Flight Extra 300 91"

Mike Thanks! All I have left to do is install baffels and balance the Extra, which will require mounts for the batteries and installing the Fromeco switches; then I can start the DA 70. I hope I can test run the motor this weekend

    Extreme Flight Extra 300 91"

Been a while since I've commented on my build. I finally have the cowl cut and complete. I decided on how to mount the pilot and the instrument panel. I have the regulator and switch for the DA 70 ignition installed. For the instrument I decided to secure to the canopy with 4/40 blind nuts...

    Extreme Flight Extra 300 91"

I made motor mounts from wood. They are 3/4" thick and should do the job. I did fit check to make sure everything aligned properly and the wood motor mounts fit properly. For once, I won't have to sand they fit perfect. I also made a JR plug and installed that on the wire DA provided with...

    Extreme Flight Extra 300 91"

More done tonight. It's actually beginning to look like an Extra. I sealed the hindge gap for the rudder. Then installed the rudder servo and linkage. After that I installed the stabs. I double checked the throw on the stabs to make sure they were even and they were not. I checked this...

    Extreme Flight Extra 300 91"

Installed the tail wheel. Then I installed the fuel filler. That was easy drill a hole, make sure the covering is cut clean, put thin CA on the wood and install the fuel filler. I decided to remove the covering over the pipe tunnel. I cut it long so I could iron it back onto the wood in...

    Extreme Flight Extra 300 91"

I glued small wood blocks next to the attachment points for the cowl, adding a bit strength. Then I opened up the hole for the rudder using a wood reamer so the knuckles of the hindges would fit nicely without any binding. I rough sanded the robat hinges. Mixed the epoxy and using the...

    Extreme Flight Extra 300 91"

Those of you who installed a DA70 and configured your rudder servo push/pull (at the back of the fuse), I have a few questions: 1. Where did you end up mounting your batteries? 2 Where did you place your battery switches? I'll have three batteries 1. for the ignition 2 Two to power the servos...

    Extreme Flight Extra 300 91"

Glued the rudder control horn in place. Since I'm going to use push/pull on the rudder I removed the covering from the servo bay on the back right side of the fuse. I installed four servo screws and screwed them into the wood, removed then and soaked it with thin CA.
