Honestly I don’t think I will split it. I’d like that option, but for me it may be just too much work and I’d like it in the air by October.... I’ve come across a couple bumps. They sent me two of the same landing gear cuffs, and one set of ball links do not go in strait. Tim has ball links in...

Tried to see if the GP came with stand offs... nope. Opened up my Ignition module and found a cut through the battery lead Hmmm so with some quick work I crimped on a new plug. Makes me wonder though. No idea what the black marker mark stands for either.

    What beer ya drinking tonight?

Making me want to get an Alaskan hopothermia IPA.... but for now, Fresh Haze it is! I soldered up a fellow club members motor and ESC. Told me he’s bringing payment of some fresh haze. Ha ha more fresh haze in my future!

Here are a couple pics of the Full Scale ARS300. You can see the colorscheme is pretty scale except orange instead of a deep red. I'm finding it's very hard to locate the full scale aircraft. Actual French aircraft registry states this is S/N1 and the MFGR is Ducreux-Foulon which I believe to be...

Time to talk about the powerplant! GP76 !! Same bolt pattern as the DA60 which is marked on the firewall for drilling which is a bonus. Very excited to try out this twin! Marked the DA-60 holes. I’ll need to check my standoffs for prop clearance. Appears to be 7” firewall to spinner...

That is so cool it was your old car back in the day. I had a friend with a 69 auto fastback that said you'd think it would be a chick magnet, but was actually an old guy magnet... "I used to have one just like her! Cant believe I sold her..." HA HA After all that hard work, pick a nice paint...

Time to admire the quality again. The elevator trim on the bottom towards the leading edge is under/overlapped by the top covering. Very nice. Check out the perfect alignment of the control horn to the servo arm slot. If the nut wasn’t on and the bevel didn’t keep it from rotating, it would...

Drilled some servo mount pilot holes, tapped, and cured with CA. I am thankful they didn’t pre-fab pilot holes as they never seem to work with whatever brand servo I end up with. Not a lot of room for my dremel, had to use a pencil vice to drill the elevator servo pilot holes. Held the servo...

Me too!! Spent a great deal of time deciding for myself if it was going to be a good purchase for me. Usually it makes sense to support the companies based here in the USA like AJ Aircraft, Extreme Flight, and PAU. There has been a lot of debate about intellectual property and whether SkyWing...

Elevator Pins. Basically they hold a sliding latch that keeps the screws in place, so the elevators won’t fly off the tube. They hold them close to the fuse

Here is a photo flood of the magnetic pins. Very innovative and awesome. The magnet captured, so even if the glue fails it’s not going anywhere. The canopy has to slide slightly back and up to come off. No more dowels wearing out in the canopy or latch failures. Carbon T-Pins up front, center...

Fitting some servos in place. There is a little panel for you to knock out that shows the servo arm and orientation to put it in. Kind of clever! For the rudder, push pull, you’ll have to remove the covering from the slot over where the arrow is. Presto! Another knockout panel with the servo...

Some of the goodies. Combo deal when purchased with the plane you get 10% off wohooooo. I like a good deal. I’ve seen some recent posts of people saying the 1267 is dying under stress tests. May end up changing this out. But who knows. I’m thinking without a metal linkage it will be fine. As...

I was going to purchase this plane this July, and when I called Tim, he told me someone had just purchased the last TWO in this scheme... I was devastated! Rest assured, he had another batch on the water and reserved it for me. It became a little delayed but it worked out perfectly as my Timber...

And a lot of it is thin and has a piece of ply in the middle. Light, and brilliant! A lot of people fear that carbon is too heavy to compete with ply, but when there are big lightening holes and a thin sandwiched ply with carbon it works!

Control Horns. This is the only epoxy that I will need to mix up for this build... that’s a crazy thought. I will use whatever extra to reinforce a couple joints. Like all the other MFGRs you’ll have to scruff them up and in this case remove some of the plastic. I scruffier up with 100 grit...

Took some time to wick in some strategic CA. Hardened the wood screw holes, and hit the joints that appeared to need it the most. SkyWing used a lot of glue! Not like my Timber on bit. Very pleased with most of the joints. A couple little defects, but not bad at all!!
