James Atkinson does not work for RC FlightDeck

I'm sure there's a story here but since everyone's good with the status of things we can probably do without the story. @dhal22 , click the EVENTS link in the red navbar just below the site header and you'll see that RCflightdeck provides us with our events listings and is also an awesome...

Saito 61cc Four Stroke Gas Engine, NEW!

I asked the Horizon customer service guy and he said it's about equivalent to a 40cc two stroke engine. Looking at the recommended prop sizes it might even equate to a 45cc 2 stroke. no release date though, pre-orders might be getting a $100 savings based on the scratched out $1099.99 price...

    Saying goodbye to AMA?

My main concern would be all of the events and categories that are organized by the AMA. Maybe those categories could be organized by the people that participate (like IMAC) but if there's a chance of those things going away then I'd be reluctant to agree with you.

Scale World Models 1/3 Super Cub Project

i was wrong, it is rag and tube but i guess they use a lot of carbon fiber to get the weight down so it can qualify as light-sport, a lower category of aircraft certification than standard category That metal that wraps around the fuselage under the windscreen on a Cub is known as the "boot...

Scale World Models 1/3 Super Cub Project

That's probably a result of the Carbon Cub not being a rag and tube airframe so they're able to soften some of the sharp corners, but I don't know that for sure.

AMA SHOW 2016 -- Video Coverage!!

you know, it being California and everything, I had to look at her to see if there was any resemblance to Joe! not that there's anything wrong with that! :spongebob: It's news to me too, we have a female reporter? She did a great job I thought, if that was the audition, she's got the job. :)

    Hello from Boonville Mo!

In the upper right area of the screen you'll see your username, hover over it and a menu will open. In the menu, click on Account Upgrades and you'll see three tiers. The most common one is Tier 1, it's $50 and we put the money towards covering events. Of the other two tiers we only have two...

    JR 9503, Programming a Mix

The trick is in not misinterpreting the Flaperons label in the mix menu. When you first select the wing type the manual says to use NORMAL for a wing with two aileron servos on two channels or ailerons and flaps with four servos. There is a FLAPERON option but the manual says not to use that...

Scale World Models 1/3 Super Cub Project

Matt, so far it seems pretty cool. It's not a very scale airplane but you can definitely tell that it's a Super Cub. I saw Dave Sullivan flying his 1/3 scale World Models Clipped Wing Cub at Joe Nall and also watched @SupaTim 's Clipped Wing Cub video before starting the build. Other people...

Scale World Models 1/3 Super Cub Project

A few final details in getting the wing control surfaces hooked up and we'll be on to the fuselage, engine, and final controls set-up! Overall a great ARF so far but installing the servos in the wings turned up a few small challenges, like less than perfect pushrods for the ailerons and flaps...

New!! Great Planes 30cc Avistar Sport/Trainer

I don't see how this is a defining moment. We passed our defining moment when we started the site and asked that we not make this site like others where people can't post without a persistent risk of being flamed. All I asked is that when we announce a new product, our members not take that...

GoFundMe page set up for XFC 2016

Hey folks, I got a few donation messages today and we're up to $150 so with the match from GSN that's $300! Not a bad effort so far. This is one of those situations where you can make a small donation and our match will help to make it into a larger donation. We gave $500 last year to the XFC...
