The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Could have for sure. Maybe it's just me being lazy. Takes time to draw it up, and I haven't tried to epoxy PLA plastic before. Most plastic control horns are nylon I believe and they flex easier than PLA, so If I were to try to attach it like a conventional control corn, I'm pretty sure it...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Worked on some G10 sheet with a hacksaw, dremel, and belt sander. Made me some Fowler flaps for the otter, not much materieal for them to grab onto, so that will be challenging. But at least I’m making some sort of headway.... can’t steer a parked car after all.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

I got the specs from John, man that guy is quick and said he'll update the website when he gets some time. busy with production he said! I did see they are 3pole motors, but the sticker price is great for a slab. There are a lot of servo options in the $70 range, but most lack speed or torque or...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

The issue I have with most 8oz tanks is they are too short. Those tanks are a little longer and should suffice.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

John needs to update his page for this servo, but 270oz/.12/8.4? $45 so should be just over 200 at 6.6 id imagine. http://www.promodeler.com/DS270DLHV 305oz/.07/8.4 which is 250/.09/6.6 I think $70 these would fit the bill at 6.6 and HV. Might be my choice. http://www.promodeler.com/DS305CLHV

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

I think I’ll try something a little quicker. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews with PHD servos. I’ve been itching to try out some KST or Promodelers. Also. Not sure if 6.6 A123 would end up a little heavy in comparison to a little LiPo

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

I wouldn’t go smaller than 10oz. Seems to me there isn’t enough flex in the fuel lines for aerobatics, clunk no clunky in a short tank. So I ran across some servos I had purchased a while back that had a good reputation for cheap slab servos. Solar D770 .09 130oz 7.4v Do you think they’ll be...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Okay... stupid idea for the ailerons. I should have redisigned the whole trailing edge of the wing for that. However. With one missed opportunity comes another. My custom LED nav lights. I’ll need to test them. But instead of going crazy with Fowler flaps maybe this is a better idea.... this...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

More turbo otter work. Baaaaaabby steps.... I want to make Fowler flaps and ailerons.... but that seems like it’s going to take a while. Shaped the cowl some more. I’m getting there slowly.

Cool Orel Zohar's flight in weston park

WOW, The blender at the 1:30 mark... Pretty intense and accurate flying. Not to be a kill joy, but I cringed a few times while he flew over those poor folks. Super fun video to watch, amazing pilot, and what an awesome airframe!

love those tail wheels!! They actually work! ha ha. I wish GP still made their 1.25-5" hollow soft rubber tailwheels. They are discontinued now and I cannot seem to find one that isn't solid rubber or foam anymore. GPMQ4242 or GPMQ4243. They were light, provided cushion, and cheap...
