The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I have thought about that and frankly it would help the vertical CG on it. My concern is breaking props on landings though as I will be switching to wood props as soon as they come in. Hadn't ordered them until I knew which prop worked best for my setup. Guess it's time to make some wire...

I broke it so now it's on the bench getting repaired. Some how I don't think this plane is going to last me very long. Having way to much fun with it and getting stupid low with it. LOL started learning inverted harriers and said what the hell I can do upright ones down low so might as well stay...

I did that once with a foamie. Switched out from futaba to spektrum on that plane as I didn't fly it much. First time I went to fly it it was all over the place. That was when someone told me that spektrum and futaba have expo setup backwards from one another.

Stupidest thing you have ever done RC related.

Was letting a friend @wecoyote fly a pretty fast wing I have. It will do around 80mph. Told him to make a low high speed pass. I wasn't convinced that he had gotten low enough and said and I quote "Come on Tom you can get lower than that".

    3D Viper build log (maybe)

I really like the Gorilla glue medium CA that lowes and walmart carry and the Loctite brand thin CA from walmart.

    OMP 70" Fusion has ARRIVED!

If I remember it did all go well. Plane looked good in the air. Believe he had the engine cut off in the air but he set it down just fine.

Not really. 40" wingspan and has a 2200mah 3S 30c lipo on it. the green one I built the guy that will own it is running a much higher KV motor and will be running a 11x6 prop. All personal preference really. I like the feel of a bigger prop as it moves more air across the surfaces and seems to...

Yeah I'm trying out different props and gonna try a 4S lipo in the morning. 3S on a 13x6 prop is plenty of power though.

Didn't hurt it bad. Crunched the nose a little, broke the prop and broke the glue joint on the landing gear block. What I learned. Don't hit the throttle kill switch by mistake when in a hover 8' off the ground. Check it out.

Oh if it makes you feel better I dorked my Purple profile this morning and had to repair it as well.

Yeah I have found when working on my slabs its sometimes hard to tell the difference between not enough down thrust and a tail heavy condition. Deff check your CG again. Should be around 33% of the wing cord.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Damn that sucks dude. Is that how much down thrust that motor has in it or did it get knocked all funny in the nose plant? Seems like a lot.

    Welders Help

Yes they do rock. We use a lot of Jackson and Pro Safe brand helmets where I work. The Pro Safe on I have is bad ass other than I wish it didn't use batteries. Sucks that time you go to strike and arc and the batteries have died.

yeah my yard is the same way. Got my purple stix loaded in the truck though to go fly in the morning when I get off of work. Got it more neutrally balanced so should be more better now. You gonna video the maiden of the grasshopper?
