Is it an auto darkening helmet? If so it probably has an adjustment for how dark it gets. If its just a standard one look up the manufacture and you should be able to get a darker lense for it.

Thank you sir. If you look closely you can see the kadet hiding in the background. Been working on it a little at a time. The older wood in it I don't want to soak with ca so I have been using wood glue and having to clamp every joint so it takes time. It's almost done though. Went from being...

Yes it is. Didn't realize it until after I cut it up one night at work. Thought it was just steel as it was so dirty I could t tell and it was dark where I was cutting it. Get it out into the light and was like hey that's brass not steel. Started trying to clean them up and make them pretty but...

All the sheeting along the bottom of the plane was pretty well fuel soaked. Pulled it all off and glued in new stuff. Since I'm not super worried about weight on this plane I used a piece of really hard 1/16" balsa I had. Stiffened up the fuse quite a bit.

The wing is massive on the kadet. Gonna try it convince my buddy to convert it to gas though and get rid of the slimmer on the nose.

These made it into my shop this morning. Belong to a flying buddy. The avistar is just getting stripped down and recovered to look like an L-4 grasshopper. The kadet he asked me to repair it (the fuse needs a lot) and take creative liberty on covering it. Should be fun.

    Is expo really needed.

Yup I'm a pincher as well (actually kinda of a mix between the two as my thumb is still on top of the stick with pointer finger at the front of it). It was pretty much the way I was taught but I have found that when I tried flying with my thumbs that if I was trying to say use right rudder I...

Matt Chapmans new ride for 2015! BAD ASS!!

I was reading somewhere that it looks likes they are making a slightly newer version of it as the cowl shape changed a bit. Still has the cheeks but a little more streamlined. I wish he would have gone with a Edge or and MSX over the Extra but whatever makes him happy is best.

Looks nice but the cap is cooler. Those elevators look tiny.

    Is expo really needed.

It may have just been in my head but I had flown a couple of my planes without expo when I got back in the hobby and they were a handful. This guys planes just flew smooth as silk and it was only 30 seconds into the flight and I was comfortable with them.

    Is expo really needed.

After attending my first probro yesterday I'm convinced that expo may not really be needed in our planes. It's all in your setup. One guy that was thee let me fly a couple of his planes. If he had not told me I never would have know there was no expo programmed into the radio. He has all his...
