I’m going out flying thread 2019

It's an awesome flying airplane. I personally can't get enough of it, even though it was blowing ~15mph constant this weekend :oblong: As you can see it's got plenty of power and maneuverability. I won't lie, it will wing rock some in high alpha, but I have a feeling my CG is a bit far...

He specifically designed the kit for the DA100, the DA120 won't fit without some heavy mods. If you're willing to change a lot of things to get the DA120 to fit, then there wouldn't be an issue with it.

Yes, I have flown a few DA100's actually, and there is no discernible difference between them and the DA120 as far as'roughness' goes, not to me. My engines do not overheat, even in a full 8 minute hover- if that's the way you would like to have a conversation then we're done here. By the...

Don't know what DA120's you've ran, but the 2 I've owned, and all the ones on my buddies airplanes, are just as sooth as any other 120cc class engine. Airframe has a LOT to do with how smoothly the engine 'feels'. Even things like exhaust setup, or how the engine is mounted, or even the...

Put in just a little stick time over the weekend. New airplane maiden and then took the always awesome Gernot Extra 330Sc to the snowy mountains for a little windy shenanigans.

The I'm NOT going out flying thread.

The issuer is the DHS which means it would be a very steep uphill battle for us. We are trying to find out if anything can be done.

The I'm NOT going out flying thread.

Well we were hoping the TFR that is encompassing our club would expire at the end of January but we awoke yesterday morning to a month long renewal :( https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_9_9202.html Some club members are starting to worry that they will continually renew the TFR because of...

Spent the last 2 nights getting the twins ready for fun. From factory they come with sport flyer settings, so I had to crank the throws way up.

Tried a new club over the weekend. Friendly group of guys, though they mostly fly heli's. They've never seen GS that close before and were thrilled with what they could do.

I kept it very basic and simple as this is for product demonstration at shows and events. The manual only calls for 4 essential modes (cruise, thermal, speed, and landing) so that is what I've done here. If I wanted to, I could've spent hours mixing half a dozen flight conditions and 30+ mixes...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Programming is very simple, in that for thermals you just need a slight TE droop. You just adjust your ailerons down ~2º, and of course you need a tiny tiny hair of down elevator compensation. The exact opposite is true for speed. Thermaling is also pretty simple. You're just looking for...

Question? What's good in cheap servos these days?

The PAD would mitigate voltage spikes (as that's what our Brushless do) but they only come with the servos from the factory.

    PAU Ultimate assembly

On 100CC+ models, slapping 3-4oz of lead onto the tail of the airplane to change your balance doesn't add any measurable effect, other than making it more responsive in the tail. It's not such a big deal, and isn't something to really fret over ;) But to each his own... :banana-dance:

Hit up the local slope on Saturday to do something a bit different. Took a Multiplex Easy Glider 4, FunRay, Cularis, and a DreamFlight Libelle DLG for a mixed variety of fun. Flew all but the Cularis as it was a large draggy unpowered model and the lift conditions were very light, didn't want to...

Got my new Multiplex FunRay all programmed up last night. I did some initial flying on Saturday with it setup like a conventional airplane, but gliders need more specific programming to take advantage of lift conditions out on the slope. So I programmed in my thermal and speed settings, as well...

Of course I didn't take any photos but I got my hands on a coworkers 70" Slick and started to work on fixing some things that just weren't right with it. Started off by readjusting the rudder pull pull cables. They had stretched so much over the years that the cable ends were screwed all the way...

That's an 86", haven't flown one. I flew the 104" ARS last summer and it's a phenomenal flying airplane. Lots of tail authority and very aggressive flying.
