    The Butler Aircraft Modelers Association (BAMS) is hosting a fun fly this coming Saturday. Our June event was a rain out so we decided to host a second event. Good chance for those to try out the 30' X 200' asphalt strip just laid down on the main runway. I understand the CD is a swell fellow!

    Sanded the epoxy down this morning and filled the low spots with autobody filler, while I was at it put a little more filler on the Tri Pacer cowl that was started some time ago. Decided to put some primer on, let the sand, primer, sand, prime.... begin.

    Did a little work on the fuselage today. Applied package tape to the cowl for release and filled the transition between the cowl and fuselage with a mixture of epoxy, milled fiber and coolidia silca.     I'm sure Wade will fill you in about the laser cutting. Many years ago I bought a complete set of steel fittings for the Nelitz Cub that dhal22 is completing. I'm fairly certain these were cut with water jet.

    What are you using for the tapes? Polytac? Per the video brush Polybrush down then set the tape in the wet bed and stipple the Polybrush up into the tape with the brush. Never tried Polytac but it works for you well then good.

    Have the wing walk and the swooshes painted on. This ends the 2025 painting season for me. It will be rattle can primer until the 2026 season opens.

    Assembled the flaps and ailerons on both wings. Going flying this morning so the paint will get another day to cure before the wing walk is painted on. I think the corrugations were worth the effort now that it is painted, I was having doubts last week!
