I'm happy with the way hinges turned out. I plan to use the clevis from a DuBro HD adjustable control horn for the connection at the flap. I wonder too. It looked so good on paper but just didn't work as expected. If I had an Oscope I could check the it out. That's OK because with the OpenTX timer there will be fewer parts since I had planned a PWM switch anyway. The switch will be switched by the timer in the TX, so simple...- TonyHallo

I was unsuccessful at building a timer circuit using a LM555 timer. Not sure why it did not work but I made 3 different ones with the same result. Not to worry as a timer is very easy in OpenTX and all it takes is one logical switch, the timer is adjustable to 0.1 sec so it's all good. I...- TonyHallo

Working on the tail lighting, the mount for the beacon is made from a 5/8" dowel, the lens is from a 1/2" panel light and the bezel was turned on the lathe out of 5/8" aluminum stock. @AKNick, can you send me the schematic? Isn't there a web site that will make a board from the schematic? Or at least I thought so? @WMcNabb, my build is rather simple, only blinking light will be the vertical fin beacon. For more complex options the Eflight controller looks to be the ticket.- TonyHallo

Worked on the flap hinges and aileron linkage today. The hinges were cut on the mill, oversized blanks were cut and drilled in a stack, a 1/8" rod held them in place while the machining operations were carried out. Pre-bent 1/8" balsa around an 1 1/2" pipe for the flap trailing edge. The stub ribs and sheeting were sanded to fit the pre-bent sheet.
