    I made the connector out of 5/16"(?) steel rod. My 4-40 die arrived too small for my holder so I used my mini lathe to hold it.

    This is a trial wing bracket so I just dry fitted the threaded coupler. Photo also shows the connector.

    I ordered 4-40 rod couplers and cut one down to a usable size.

    Fuse end of wing brackets work. The threaded coupler allows for strut adjustment length. First I tried to thread a brass rod but decided I couldn't get enough threads.

    A little bit of free time this week. Slowly moving my mill to its future home. Had to cut a larger opening at my shop and lean the mill head over.
