    89" SkyWing Laser 260 V2 Assembly Thread

Yeah with the 2:1 headers there is no flex header. Relying on a small margin of error for fitment makes it a bit difficult. One thing that is nice with the JMB headers is that they are aluminum so they should expand at the same rate as the heads. Either way, it's all unwanted stress, but the...

    89" SkyWing Laser 260 V2 Assembly Thread

Got home from work, product looks fabulous. One little problem, the bolts don't fit very well... I've fiddled with it all night after my swing shift and cannot seem to make sense of it. Have to squeeze the flanges together 1-2mm to make the bolts spin freely but the cannister is at an angle down...

The wait has ended! Well sorta, I had to go to work. But was able to get a couple photos of the new JMB custom exhaust. everything looks good at first glance and the canister resting on a paper towel. I cannot wait to get home and really check it out.

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Well despite our sub tropical storm and atmospheric river event, the skies opened up 34F, basically zero wind... with nine items on my to-do list for the day, I managed to check them all off including one 15min flight with the ARS. Cold and humid, so my fingers said nope, you’re done. the...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I was wondering the same thing. Miss seeing Kelly on here. Sounds like you actually need a little kit to keep you from going stir crazy!

You made me laugh! HAHA It's because I can add more fuel with the cooler motor and create more power to make it just as hot as it was before! LOL

Will be using Futaba temp telemetry. I won’t know what the difference will be, but can only hope it’ll do it’s job

Oh boy! Eight hours of printing and I have a set of baffles custom designed by me that weigh 1.5oz combined. After a few trials I was able to create something that may actually work. I am a little concerned about the PLA plastic getting too close to the cooling fins. here is a bunch of photos:

Thanks! It's very rewarding to design and 3DPrint things like this. hopefully I can bring it to fruition Milan at JMB got back to me and said he's super sorry - covid caused some unplanned set backs and with orders piling up he's scrambling to get it all finished. He said my exhaust is...

So close. About 2/3 the way through the print...the power went out. Restart failed. Here’s what it looks like now, reprinting to see what needs to change.

    89" SkyWing Laser 260 V2 Assembly Thread

Expanding my CAD skills and teaching myself how to intersect and blend two different objects on different angles is like working in an alternate reality for me. After about ten thousand eureka moments later I have drafted and designed a baffle for the right/rear cylinder. Talk about time...

Are you referring to the tachometer lead? You would have to buy the digital tach from GP. I don't think you can use a DLE tach. www.aviatorplusrc.com/product/gp-tachometer-free-shipping/

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

Glad I mentioned it! I first trusted the manual instead of my gut (this was before the addendum came out) and it was so incredibly tail heavy I almost lost the plane. extremely pitch sensitive. Have fun!

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

Starting to tie up some loose ends. Sanded the leading edge of the horizontal, fitted the elevators in place, drilled hinge holes, fitted, and then sanded to make the counterbalances match the leading edge of the horizontal. Note there is a bit of a gap for the sea fins to be installed. There...

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

I don’t recall adding any weights to the tail. Make sure you have the current manual for CG. The original had a addendum, as it was too far aft. Cubs have a pretty wide CG range. You should be fine without adding any weights, but check the CG.

I've been looking at the Falcon 1.5m. A flying buddy here got one shipped from Ukraine in a wooden box along with a deviant. Have you flown one per chance?

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

Summer is over. My poor DHC-2 has been neglected!! Recently cut the opening for the engine cooling through the dummy radial. painted it via rattle can and masking tape. The more I look at it, the more it needs pushrods. Who knows, maybe ignition leads... I still have to finish my...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

One of the main reasons for the larger servo arms in the wings was keeping the geometry even for full span ailerons while giving maximum flap deflection. Basically the flaps and ailerons are matched (move at the same rate of travel/always in sync) throughout their entire movement when in full...

Sorry for no updates! Been waiting for my exhaust for a while now. Still hasn’t been shipped from CZ yet. With winter being set in I’m in no rush. It’s 19F right now. I’m dabbling with CAD to see if I can attempt to make 3DP baffles for this plane. I think it’s more work than it’s worth... but...
