    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I’ve never put a tach to my plane sorry. I’m swinging a 23x8CF, it doesn’t roll on the ground at idle, maybe a tiny bit. The plane is pretty heavy and likes to stay put. I tune for a steady idle and smooth transition to WOT. A good tuning method to look up is Terry’s Engine Tuning guide (should...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I’ll be honest. I don’t exactly know what I’m doing 100% lol. But! I am putting together floats for the super otter. Never made a set of floats from seaplane supply yet. I modified a few little things but this is a new venture for me. Got the bottoms glassed, and even added a Kevlar rub...

Never heard of ZEPSUS products. Can you tell me about your use with them, and where you got them (US?) ? https://zepsus.com/products/

I think you’ll have just as much fun as I do with those servos lol! But really, they’ll work just fine. Run then at HV to get the best performance out of them and you’ll be one happy flier. Most people won’t notice over torque. Where the 250 Oz/in+ shines is the full span ailerons and rudder. As...

personally, I do like the DLE55RA on this plane. Just keep in mind you’ll need some tail weight, have less prop clearance, and to be careful stressing the airframe out with the extra weight/power. I fly sport scale and mild 3D with it. I think the GP38 would be a great engine for this...

Micro DC-3 Dakota featuring retracts, flap and lights

So neat. Not ATRs though! Just amazes me watching these things fly inside a building... just amazing. Wonder if any if these guys show how they do it. They have to be incredibly light

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

Thanks guys!! Any feedback on the videos I make is appreciated. Takes a while to thin it down and transition it... especially with music. Hard to find decent beats that are copyright/royalty free. It’s fun to put these videos together. I was thinking about making videos on tips and tricks as an...

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

Got another video with the ARS early this October. Neat flight with the low sun angle in the evening, and got to fly with a passing Bald Eagle. Alaska style flying at its best.

WOW! Did not expect that turn of events... First off, praying for your wife and a speedy recovery. That sounds terrible, but am super happy to hear that it went well! Family trumps this forum any day. Those photos are BEAUTIFUL! Absolutely gorgeous. We just got snow... and it rained...

I think my throttle curve is mostly mechanical. I try to follow this guideline as much as possible for a linear response. I'm using a Futaba 18SZ, not sure what you system is. I use a splined throttle curve to get the response I desire through the AFR menu. Which usually equates to a gradual...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Ugggg sorry man, that's no fun. I'm a little curious how it got stuck in the first place. Those bolts are pretty tough... guessing it was over torqued a bit (stretched the bolt) and/or locktitie? Given that the bolt snapped would concern me, either poor quality hardware or you did something it...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Got out to fly it! Need to shim the horizontal and add more weight to the nose. Amazed how much penetration it has during a throw wow. Hard to tell just how it handled because it was pretty tail heavy. My flying buddy has a hawk as well and his was heavier than mine he said.. before adding...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Finally getting my mini dart DLG ready. It’s only taken YEARS. So much head scratching and issues (my fault). Made a new tail even! Got my programming figured put for flaperons, just need to add some ballast to the nose. Without ballast she’s 4.85oz. Not too bad for a glass foam core 1m glider...

When making your poly snake skin sheathing, after cutting to length I like to lightly burn the edges with a torch, it will keep the ends from unraveling. Then I use marine/adhesive lined heat shrink to keep the ends from vibrating into the wiring and it helps stick it in place.
