    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

What characteristic are you feeling that you don't like? I haven't got to 5-3/8" yet. Currently 5" Loaded - 5-1/8" empty. Really need to make a baggage compartment in the empennage for this plane to put the batteries in. Too bad there isn't a push-pull rudder servo option either.

    3D Printing General Discussion

I should upload the IBEC holder to thingiverse. I am in the process of making a GP Ignition Holder V3 that utilizes larger vibration dampeners. It's taken me quite some time to source the grommets and eyelets. Here is V2: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4463761 I'd be happy to try and make...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Super Otter wing has finally been covered. Wing tips were.... fun?.... challenging might be the better word. Quite a bit of trim involved in attempt to make the plane look scale. So here are my glamour shots: Still PLENTY of work to do. But all the big pieces are there. Really looking good...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

The tail of this plane is pretty heavy to get the CG 5”... at one point I attempted to make a wire Leaf with a 3DP bracket. I lost interest as the other one worked. My 3leaf OEM version is bent a tiny bit but not bad. I think the 3.25” wheel takes a lot of the shock. it would be easy to make...

Scale RCM 1/3 Scale Champ Build

Beautiful structure work and it's super exciting to see the covering go on. The key to success with Stewart System is controlling the humidity environment. Very good/friendly product being water based, haven't seen too many modelers use it in place of the MEK based PolyFiber.

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

woah woah WHOA!, not so fast. . . tell us more. LOL What happened? Am I NOT the only one with a Timber in a constant state of repair? HA HA! I'll second using a pencil soldering iron (like an old weller) to remove the hinges. Just cut them off with a razor saw carefully at the hinge to separate...

Mine were right in plain sight next to the wings LE. I've have a few new gray hairs in my beard HA HA! The struggle is real. All the work is worth it as its a great flying airplane.

Busted out my slats last night. One of the mounting tabs was sheared off... the others were not very strait when glued in. Also it seems like they missed some glue inside as the wood is lifting from the structure. uggg.... may just strip the covering.

Nuff said. Lol, got a couple flights in until the heavens dumped rain!

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I have heard of a couple guys putting them on. They notice a slight decrease in roll rate, lift increase, and softer wing stall. I'm not doing rolling circles with mine, so it seems logical to put them on. Under the right conditions it drops a wing pretty easy I've found - with an AFT CG it gets...

The brackets are not very high quality, but they worked! ran across this video of the plane flying with a 70cc 3Dub.

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

Got my J&J tailwheel in. Made a pull pull bracket on the rudder. Ended up using the springs supplied and some steel leader/crimps. Seems happy. I was pulling out my hair getting the geometry right with ball links and fuel tubing and said ya know... let’s go old school and fix it later if I do t...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

My timber wing has been repaired for quite some time now... Been waiting to get some time and install the LE devices, but too many other irons in the fire at the moment. Speaking of irons, that 110" wing takes a long time to iron the wrinkles out!!! Lots of real-estate to work with.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Feeling like I have officially become the "go-to" guy for my neighbor and his son. Charging their rc truck batteries, fixing their connectors, and providing them with battery wisdom. LOL I was surprised to see that he was using a LiOn 2S battery in place of a LiPo. Charging the little 1500-1800...

Scale RCM 1/3 Scale Champ Build

It's nice to figure these things out for a piece of mind. This is the reason I've turned away from deans all together. It's hard to imagine four flat surfaces making a perfect connection polished or not as the springs don't make contact with the other tab. I've seen quite a few with uneven wear...

Sure thing. I've only seen one twin so far, and it was a DLE40T, the cylinders stuck out the side. Welcome to GSN Mark!!!
