I think there is a lot of variables involved with gaping - voltage being a big one, but timing, octane, and compression all play a role. I played with the gap on my DLE35 one time, and I liked it at 0.019" and it stuck with me.

Discussion I believe that Toledo has been cancelled.

The Weak Signals R/C Club has announced that the Toledo Show has Ended INDEFINITELY as the "End of an Era" through an e-mail to it's contributor who posted it on social media. It's not on the website yet, but it's apparently true. How sad!

How much slop are we talking about here? 8mm and 5/16" are pretty darn close to the same thing. for my 1/4" bolt I cut the head off as well but was able to use bronze bushings to bring the OD up to 5/16" and hysold them to the bolt to create a step down axle of sorts. I think it would be hard to...

divine intervention LOL. Good question. The range is supposed to be 0.018-0.020" per DA and DLE manuals. I always gap to 0.019"

I went through their customer photos of the wire tail wheel installed on some 50cc planes, and I like it. Ordered up a J&J traditional wire version last night. Hoping to try out the silicone tubing method instead of springs.

Looking at your picture. I have a little advice unless you've already changed it up. You need some more cowl exit air behind the muffler, otherwise you cowl is going to insulate the heat and overheat your engine and possibly make tuning your carb nightmare with hotter than ambient air. Next is...

I’d be surprised if you hit 22. Your gear legs are much lighter along with the tires. Your short nose and the motors are further aft than my gas motor which will help your CG. I have 6oz in the tail! To get a more aerodynamic nose you would have to get a block of balsa and start carving. Or...

Thanks for the input fellas. You guys are on par with my feelings about the scenario and it makes me feel better about letting it go to a guy I fly with and want to spread the love. I do this a lot. People come to get parts, and stuff from me and I don't ask for anything in return - getting...

He gets excited when I bring it up. He'd be over the moon if I gave it to him. Would love to make his day - might end up going that route and tell him to buy a Tech-Aero and a Receiver when you get the funds. PNP! Go blow your socks off and taste some real 3D. :D

Hmmm, I'm in a pickle. I've been trying to sell my Extreme Flight 74" Edge 540 V1 to a club member cheap for about a year now. he says he really wants it, but cannot cough up $350 for the plane without the smoke pump, and receiver. It has a worn out DLE35RA and some well used Hitec 7955TG's in...

    Awesome Video Thread

Man... the expansion and contraction of the wood and all the grain differences would drive me insane on a project like this. Talk about patience and time. I have never understood how Fantasy of Flight stays afloat. There is no money other than contributions. I have been there and seen the...

Decided to redo the OEM blind nut in the other wing. While I was in there I added a little tri-stock. Did the same to the other side. Went ahead and cut some 1/2” bright yellow strips to gap seal the wings.... I took a break and then did the other wing... except I was so tired I put a...

They make a beautiful tailwheel. I need something with some give to it due to my rocky/nasty terrain. The spring wire titanium is appealing. Edit: The J&J Tailwheels are for 35-42% planes. so the 120cc range, probably too much for my 50-70cc airframe?
