    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I’ve been a little slow repairing my wingtip. But it’s done. No it’s not pretty... but it’ll work pretty good. I’m too cheap to source matching paint. Sanded down the wingtip to expose the fiberglass. It was a pretty clean break which tells me that the wingtip was made in halves. It cracked else...

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

Couple more flights on the ARS. Temps seemed to keep cooler staying under 330F, even with some WOT shenanigans. Timer is a little off, but that’s 15 honest minutes of flying. I wanted to see what the inside of the rudder looked like.... OK OK OK, naw, I screwed up. I had to call it quits...

    3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

Took the edge up for a couple more flights on the DA35. Love the power, love the flight times. Removed the wheels and wheel pants, installed some 3.5” FlyWheelz. Had to make a little bushing to fit inside the wheel bushing to accommodate the stock gear. Added a little Velcro fiber washer to...

Spiral shaft pucks - yuks! Wait... is that Emma? Wasn't she born yesterday!?!? I can't believe mine is already eight months old.

    Timber 110" Twin Build

For sure! The real estate to work with inside a larger airframe spoils you. It’s easier to modify and the planes seem more predictable the larger they are. I’ve thought about designing my own sprung gear like Mike Patey did on his scrappy build. But I would like to have a tig welder for that...

Beautiful work!!! BTW the 3.25” dubro smooth tire is 30mm wide (1.18”) People would pay good money for the ART you are creating

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I doubt they'll make a V2 that would be against some horizon hobby virtue :roflmao: It sound's like QC is improving based on what I've been hearing. I think it's still important to beef up the cabin area that keeps the wings on with some tri-stock and replacing the blind nuts/contraptions with a...

    Timber 110" Twin Build

Very nice! Your wife seems to be smiling so that's GREAT!!!! My TW fork is on Thingiverse as a .STL , not sure what the actual raw file is labeled. I'll have to check the diameter later.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

A guy I fly with here makes his own rocket engines. They are hit or miss sometimes as the packing is hard and there isn't any gas to pop a parachute out later. but it's pretty neat. I think he uses stump killer that has potassium nitrate and mixes it with something.

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Nice maiden!! One take off and landing complete!! You are probably overheating on the ground. You should tune it and fly to break it in properly. Only the little gas engines (20cc<)and nitro engines need a ground break in. Usually it would be hard to start if it got too hot and leaned out on...

    Awesome Video Thread

I just ran across this DuBro Factory tour. Gives me some more respect that I already had for these guys. Sure it's five years old, but to see that their products, product supplies are not made overseas makes me happy.

    Timber 110" Twin Build

The Timber Tail is a lot heavier. I originally made a TW fork with a 2.25" sullivan tire and it sank in the sand, it pivoted great though. Your beach sand is a lot more compacted than mine close to the water. I really like the 3.25" Dubro smooth rubber low bounce on mine for this reason. I had...
