    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

From what I’ve been reading the plane balances better with a 50cc up front verses the 35cc. Doubt that includes the spring gear and PRs, but with those I think the extra power will be good. As far as handling a 110” plane.... it’s only 68” long! Most 3D planes in this size the fuselage is close...

That would be stupid silly power and probably too much engine up front since it supposedly weighs 2/3lb more than the DLE55. If you kept the gear light and moved as much as possible aft, you'd have a literal rocket ship on your hands!! I'm sure the plane can take it.

Played with my XCub gear. Keeping in mind this gear is an optional add on for the timber. After viewing the silver painted gear Ali did with the PRs in the promo video, I elected to do something similar. I found some rustoleum “Carbon Mist” spray paint. Don’t shoot me @Jetpainter we’ll see it...

Got the XCub spring gear in the mail. Axels are enormous 5/16” so they do not fit my enormous PR Bushwheels... go figure. I have some 1/4” axels... oh go figure again... just barely over 1/4”!! Do not fit. Went to the hardware store, found some 1/4” plated bolts, and a couple bronze sleeves...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

It’s too bad. Even when he gives my the buddy rate, it’s just a little more than what I can get it for. No problem, I’m supporting my friend. But when they don’t fill his back order and post them online and push his (my) order back because of it is pretty low. Which is why we decided to try the...

Well the 110" Timber is in stock online!!! I called my LHS and inquired about it. He said his queue still says back ordered with an updated ETA in late August. Also the online shipping calculator quoted me $34 2nd day air... We were both shocked! He told me to pull the trigger online and see...

Gotta be careful with cutting any glass. snips may make it de laminate. I'd suggest a hack saw with a hardened metal blade, or a bandsaw

Ouch.... I always feel like those companies are just there to kick you when your down. Feels more like theft than a service sometimes. I have no problem paying the guys to replace what ever when I cant do it myself, but I regularly see a 300% increase of part cost here from what I can get online...
