The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I just weighed the Carden Cap. I'm really happy as it came in at 18lbs even minus fuel. I feel the DLE55 should pull it around very well and should give me some pullout out of a hover.

    Too old to "HUCK"?

Heck I wish. Other than local club fun flys there aren't that many events around us.

Hell yeah. Give me a couple days notice if your headed this way and we can fly together.

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

Biggest electric slab I have right now is my stix41 which is only a 41" wingspan. I know of quite a few electric. Slabs though that are in the 20cc size range that the guys have gone off the designers recommendation and they have what we call bro powa. Basically so much power that it will help...

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

To help out a bit this is what one of the probro designer recommends for a electric setup on one of his 20cc designs. By the way this guy really knows his stuff

Thanks but most of the credit goes to @wecoyote He was the one who rebuilt the plane from a very rough crash and did the covering on it. Only major work I did was cut out the old firewall and install a new one.

    Too old to "HUCK"?

I wouldn't say I have completely surpassed you I think I'm just a bit better at the 3D side of things cause it's pretty much all I have done for the last 1-1/2 years now. When it comes to flying smooth you got me beat and remember I have no clue how to fly a helicopter just multirotors.

Carden 30% Cap232 pretty much RTF. Picked it up in a trade with @wecoyote Still need to final balance it but other than that it's ready to go. Initial check of the balance shows without my flight batteries in its slightly tail heavy but I expected that. I'm running a dle 55 whereas tom was...

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

Honestly if you go electric I think you would be happier going with a 6S or 8S setup. Either way you could go cheap on the batteries by using two 3S lipos for a 6S setup or two 4S lipos for a 8S setup.

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

If we do a stick build and it's a profile build may I suggest one of these two kits. The slide58 is a bit cheap but I have heard nothing but good things about the EE60 and I have flown the 50cc version that @kwj48 built and owns. Absolute amazing plane in the air. These are a few other great...

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

Did somebody say profiles. I like profiles. Unfortunately I can't participate though as I already have two 20cc profile kits waiting to be built and I need to save up to get either a DLE20 or a VVRC20 to put on the nose of it. I will follow along though and watch with great interest.

    Drilling out hinge points

Or if you have to drill the holes out to 1/4" glue s piece of dowel in the hole sand and drill a new hold next to it.

Speak up and win!! We're turning ONE, time to celebrate!!

I use GSN from my iPhone daily and the only difference I notice between the site on my phone and on the desktop is the header at the top has less tabs for me to click on. No biggie though it has the important ones for me. The alerts tab and the watched threads tab. As far as tapatalk I tried...

Cowl cut and fit around the engine and it fits pretty damn good. Nice gap between the spinner back plate and the cowl. I'm happy. Now I got it all pulled off and a layer of epoxy has been spread onto the firewall to protect it from fuel. Tomorrow morning I should be able to permantely install...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Yeah it looks pretty much the same as when I got it minus a new firewall. It originally had oak 1/4 round trim as the tristock behind it but I have opted to use 1" wide 1/8" thick aluminum angle. It has been glued behind the firewall and will be getting drilled and bolted in tonight as well as...
