The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

So I got the motor mounted. In all my efforts I didn't get the firewall the way I wanted it but oh well. My buddy I got the plane from said it needed a little bit of down thrust. So I set it to have the right thrust it needed and the down thrust I thought it needed. Well when I line everything...

Really just an attempt to make it the slightest bit better.

@wecoyote got the fuel tank strapped in place and the firewall glued in place on my Carden Cap 232. Once the epoxy dries I will install the aluminum angle behind the firewall to add extra support. Also another little trick for everyone else. Wife sent this to me on Pinterest and I liked the...

    New ZDZ112 B2RV / Installation into PAU Edge 540

Awesome video terry. Plane presents well in the air and the motor sounds great (to my untrained ears at least).

Ok so I have a battery tender brand trickle charger. It works great. I also have two of the little cheap like $7 units from harbor frieght. One stays on my mower and one stays on the battery I carry to the field to run my charger. Both of them have been running for two years now no problem. Not...

    Show us your Scale Planes

I like it Terry. Whats the wingspan on it. I would love to build a scaled out Texan. Just think it would be badass with a smoke system pouring smoke out of a scale exhaust location.

Stuff the swervos in my 30% Carden Cap232 got them setup and moving properly. Still need to work on the rudder though. Went with a push pull setup and only had a 1" long servo arm left over so there is no where near enough throw on the rudder.

How much expo for maiden flight

Yup what he said. Lower deflection in my opinion is gonna be better than expo. Prolly can start in the 30-35% though on your expo and work from there. Bigger planes are actually easier to fly. Probro buddy let me fly his 55cc extra extra profile. Control surfaces are freaking huge on it and I...

    Slowest Comp-ARF P-51 Build Thread

No airplane stuff today. Was out in the heat all day long working on fencing in the backyard so the doggies have somewhere to play. Got most of it done just finish a set of gates.

Looks good bud. You could always do like we have done when we have problems taking off off of the grass. Put bigger wheels on it.

AeroWorks 150cc Yak 55M ARF QB - How Did We Miss This?!?!

I have never been a fan of the lines on a Yak 55M but the scheme on this one has changed my mind. Way out of my price range of ability to haul to the field though.

Stupidest thing you have ever done RC related.

I set up the failsafe wrong while building and programming a buddies 250 mini quad. Damn thing lit me up. Saving grace was it had carbon props on it that had a pretty blunt LE to them. If it had had the little bitty gws props like I run in mind that are sharp as hell I would have ended up with...
