    Unread Classifieds Count

I just found that setting and fixed it. There is now a "Mark All Forums Read" button on the left side by the Hobbico wide/thin banner after you click on the Classifieds link. Thanks for the suggestions, Bart

    Just plain sexy!

i might paint the aluminum sidewall white, maybe some hydraulics to have the wheelpants go up and down? or to make the wheels extend and retract into the wheelpants? (someone right now is saying, I'm doing that! admit it!)

    Unread Classifieds Count

While I begin looking for options to make the classifieds system work better I've activated a feature that will display how many new posts there are that you haven't read yet in the classifieds area. The notification shows up as a number in a red flag just above and to the right of the...

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

ok, well, the goal would be to have the right amount of power and still be affordable. if gys want to go with more then they can always do that but for a group build if we're going to make it affordable for people following along with our choices then we need to be reasonable in what we...

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

i actually have a ton of 6S 6000 mah batteries and some 8000 mah as well. 25-50C discharge rating though, might not be high enough for an airplane, gotta look into that

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

sounds good, would like to see some of the new guys/gals jump in and give it a try i might just go ahead and get the project going and leave it here for others to join whenever they're ready. not sure about gas or electric though.

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

thanks for that Mike. My only problem with making it electric is that that power system doesn't use batteries that I already have so I'd have to pony up for four or five 5S packs to make a trip to the field worth it. i might have a similar sized motor and ESC in the shop, I'll have to look...

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

Anyone thinking about doing this to give a first Gasser a try? Anyone thinking about going electric? I'm actually thinking I might go electric because I'd be able to fly it more at the field that is much closer to my house. Anyone have a suggestion for a motor/esc/battery combination?

Group Build, 20cc Profile ARF, Who's In?

Maybe we'll build the ARF this time, let it run its course and have the thread for anyone that wants to follow along later. Then when everyone's ready we'll pick a good 20cc KIT profile plane and we'll do an actual stick and glue Group Build and swap our stuff into it when we're all done...

    Drilling out hinge points

i used a size smaller than what it looks like Kork used in his photos. if you clip what's left of the hinge point off then the smaller size tube will still get the hinge without taking as much wood. just see what the smallest tube is that a new hinge will slide into and go with that. then you...

    Drilling out hinge points

thanks for the photos. learning to pull the hinges and redo flying surfaces helps to make a lot of beat up old airplanes flyable! and i love old airplanes!
