From time to time we have issues pop up where we have to enforce a policy and in return I end up looking like an a**hole to people. This morning it happened again so here's a quick clarification just to keep things on the up and up. The short version of the policy is that we welcome links to...

How to assemble your Biplane before flight.

i was wondering what makes it possible for a guy to say, "We've got a D-VII now, time to look for a D-VIII"! i'd be happy with a 150hp S1-C, heck I'd be happy with a Luscombe 8A, parked in the grass somewhere!

depending on how this goes the multiple flying lines requirement might not be necessary, i just threw a list out there to see what the options are. obviously there are some big events at great sites and maybe they won't want to get involved, maybe they will. this is just the first step to see...

Joe Nall, yes I can see the similarities but I promise that this will be different enough and worthy of its own place in the giantsphere. Triple Tree would be a great venue if they were interested in being involved outside of their Joe Nall event.

looking good Chris, looks very familiar actually! it looks like you're missing some braces across the top, probably 5/16" square balsa. do you have the plans to double check that? the construction of your 30% looks identical to my 35% and mine has more bracing across the fuselage than yours...

    Aluminum Hardware for Landing Gear??

that's the thing, i'm trying to think if there's an alternative to bulking up the gear mounting area. aluminum might not break away, it might stretch or bend saving the plane while using the stock gear mounting area. canting the gear would align the loads better with the mounting plate but...

    Aluminum Hardware for Landing Gear??

Was just thinking about a spring loaded bolting system like what's used on exhaust systems to give the landing gear and gear mount a little extra give but was also thinking about aluminum bolts to stretch and deform in bad landings instead of the landing gear mount just ripping out. Thoughts...

John van Gastel - Blurred Lines

well, i'll tell you what, if they think that they're going to get me to go to an airshow to see the full scale plane just because they've been parading around the RC version, they're probably right. :apathy:
